Wont Start After Air Conditioning System Removal

Hi All,

I know I've seen this mentioned before, when other guys have removed the AC system and experienced a 'no start' condition. There must be some overlap in the bus starting and AC system, but where? Does anyone have a wire and color number? Ive got all my wire diagrams out, and cant seem to get anywhere.

I didn't remove any wiring at the forward or rear electrical boxes, but instead heat shrinked the cut off AC wires in the rear (where the AC pump was) and in the condenser and receiver dryer area.

Not really anything in those areas that would be associated with bus A/C and starting, except maybe the ground connection on the starter solenoid or the neutral switch wiring on the transmission.

Check your rear control box switches to make sure you didn't accidentally turn it to the stop position.

I know somebody else mentioned that they had the same problem, but didnt talk about how the issue was fixed. It appears that the solenoid wire is #3 and or an unlisted wire.

Hi Brian,

Does it crank but no start or no crank at all?

The master control starts up, gauges come to life but the start button acts like its disconnected.

Check your trans selector to make sure it's not in drive or reverse.

Also make sure your perking brake is engaged.

Check for voltage at the starter connections, hookup a remote starter switch to the solenoid terminals. If it cranks by activating the starter solenoid directly, then the wire from the relay has been interrupted, or the relay is bad, or the circuit to the relay is bad. It's easy to bump things when taking out the A/C parts.

No. Solenoid wire should be 29S off stud 15 in the RJB and 29G which goes to the fuel pressure switch on the secondary filter.

Try grounding 29S with an alligator clip. Not uncommon for those pressure switches to fail.
