If I remember, there was someone asking a few months ago about 04s that are still running out there.  Well, my father is visiting (thanks to Irma) and we were talking and he thinks he has the oldest one out there.  His serial number is 0011 1953.  Assuming his is the 11th built that year, does anyone know any history on this or if someone has an older one still working?

Is your dad's 4104 serial number PD4104-011?  If so, it was delivered new in April of 1953 as fleet number S-908 to Southwestern Greyhound Lines, HQ'd in Ft Worth, TX.

It may be the oldest 4104 still on the road, but I don't have that info.

However, if you go to the GM PD4104 Facebook page and post your question to Jon Ulse, he'll cross reference the VIN with his survivor's list.

Hmmm I will ask.  He just said 0011 so not sure if there are different versions.  Looking at "PD4104" seems the standard number and letters.  Am I wrong about that?

Thanks for the info, I will check with Jon Ulse
