Winegard Satellite Antenna problems

Fighting ongoing and getting worse problem with Winegard Traveler. Tried tech help at the factory helped to pinpoint the problem, maybe. One authorized dealer accomplished verifying that the problem was in the cabling.
Question is - Can anyone point me to a dealer or technician in the Nashville - Chattanooga area?

Is this Dish Network related? Had the motion satellite we had installed about 6 years ago and worked up until about 5 weeks ago. Wouldn't lock on. Wingard techs and confirmed by Dish,  that Dish had done something with there signal. No workie. Next day bought a new T4 Motion Dome, installed and came right on. Might not be your problem. Was mine. Dome related.

If the cable from the LNB to the base of the winegaurd goes haywire, the unit starts giving odd codes. Running a cable from the LNB straight to the receiver does not work. If you can get up there jump a cable from the LNB to the base. If that fixes the problem then you can go to the trouble of snaking a short cable through the arm.

I have this set up on my 22 year old motor home and this thing is about as fool proof as they come .I can crank this thing up and have it going before the dome on my bus can find the sat. I am inclined to agree with the factory rep who said it was a cabling issue (unless you are using Dish net work) They have their system all screwed up when it comes to older Antenna's .I have Direct ) Go get you a coax crimp tool and start cutting off the ends and replacing them .If your bus is older you will have RG59 .If it is newer .you will have RG6 (LARGER) cable.This is better but sometimes you can't access all the cables so it is better to go back with what you have.When replacing the ends ,don't forget the two on top at the antenna .If I was a betting man ,I would bet that replacing the ends will cure your problems.

I had that happen to my regular antenna .You can usually tell by feeling of the cable .If that thing is brick hard for about 6 or 8 inches back from the connector ,it would be a safe bet to either cut the hard section off and put a new connector on the cable or fish another piece of cable through the arm .I replaced the whole section that went down through the upright with RG6.Weren't easy to do with that hole at the bottom but finally got it through there.

Mr Satelitte Wharehouse in Nashville fixed most of the problems for $100. Ordered a cable, that Winegard would not sell to me, that runs around the bottom of the turret. Great service and pleasant to work with.

It's been almost a month Bill, surprised the DW hasn't strung you up or woven you into a quilt by now

I have the bat wing and it pulls in normal over the air digital signals fine without and modifications. Good Luck, TomC
