Greetings all!
I was sifting through the many piles of bus parts yesterday and I ran across a complete set (intake and exhaust) of Perfect Circle valve seals VS-4.
Because we've had three buses, and because the application sheet is literally older than I am...I have a question. The guide lists cars, tractors, buses...many Canadian applications.
I can look in the engine book and figure out if I can ever use them, but if not...do any of you have a need for them? They have never been touched. But because the guide lists applications from the early 1950's, I thought I'd ask.

Wonder what they are for DD didn't use valve seals in the 50's,they are probably for a  overhead valve gasoline engine since a DD doesn't have intake valves ? are they a boot style

Valve stem seals would harden up and be useless after a few years.  They are not worth much new, and if someone was rebuilding an engine they would come in a gasket set.  In other words, you don't have much of a find.

The application page has a list for 6 and 8 V71, 8V53, 6V53 and a few others, but they don't list the year for those, or for the 9 Cummins diesel engines. But most of them take a different set number. The application years are listed for cars and light trucks, and seem to go through 1967.
IDK about a boot...but they are roughly 1/2 long, with a metal ring on the bottom and a white plastic ring on the inside top.

These have never seen the light of day, sitting in a dark temp controlled location. They are surprisingly not hardened at all. I know they aren't worth anything, I just thought I would ask if anyone could use them.

Like Geoff said you don't have much of find girl I have dozen of packages of those, when I send the heads out the machine shop always installed the seals leaving  me unused packages that came in the gasket set and they have been updated over the years too

That's cool.
I'll throw them back where they were. My daughter might decide to make something with them  ;D

I attached a pic because I was surprised I could still read the stamped info on the top.

LOL...for some reason I thought you would say that.
Maybe one of those people with gauges in their ears will want them.
