When I saw this bus, here is the 55 Scenicruiser I was thinking about.

That weighs 8000lbs. It's like pulling two toads. At some point it's costing mileage to have that much fuel on board

That is true, but, is the added cost worth it? Who says you have to keep the tank full?
A bigger problem for me is the space required.


A friend says that after 20,000+ miles, he can't tell any significant difference in fuel use with or without his full size Dodge 4X4 truck as a toad.

6.1 mpg without, maybe 6.0 with the Dodge.

      No, no -- that would be *way* too quick and merciful.

Yes, that Scenicruiser is almost unrecognizable, but if you want more space while being able to eliminate the sunken aisle without changing the framing and retaining the big baggage bays, this bus does that. It's at least a little more graceful than the squared-off box one.

The FMCA plack looks like 176814 which was identified as owned by Albert and JoAnn Roberts of Winter Haven, Florida owning a GMB which is a GMBus. This from 2007, the last year FMCA published the member numbers.

It may look ugly to some but the detail and craft work on that thing is beyond the average bus nut it had to cost a fortune to build

With the front so squared off, and the tandem axles, it might be a stretched out Cab-over truck body originally, but then how was the engine handled in the rear? Definitely a lot of money was spent.
