Hi all

Some of you already know that while my '94 RTS isn't technically an MH conversion, I have done some interior mods for my charter business.

My operating territory includes active logging roads which means a lot of dust in summer, and a lot of mud slinging in winter.

The primary problem this causes for me, is that I have had to install filters in front of the radiator, and stop every hour or so to shake out the pounds of dust that has collected. Even with the filters, I have to flush out the radiator fins with water every few trips. I neglected this once and got to experience an overtemp shutdown on my DD50 about 1/2 way down a mountain pass (I was using retarder). :o

The question is: has anyone relocated the engine radiator to the space where the A/C condenser lives?
That area remains clear of dust and debris, and even includes a couple of pusher fans already built-in.

On a related note, on my bus it looks like the engine air intake originally drew air from this zone (from up top). At some point a previous operator built a custom box to draw air from the side of the bus, straight above the air filter location. Unfortunately, this area ALSO sucks a lot of dust, and I have to blow out the air filter after every trip. I would like to re-connect the original roof-top draw, but thought there must be a reason they re-directed the air intake; perhaps sucking too much water in the rain? or when it snows?

Any RTS enthusiasts out there with ideas?

Thanks in advance
Ken
