Sometime In, 2000 heading west from Lake Charles La, in southern Texas, we ran across a rest area that had both a beautiful tile ceiling mural In the main entrance and more importantly the men's commodes (one piece stainless units ) were located outside in a roof less courtyard with brick walls. We Had Pictures But Cannot Find Them - prize to anyone who can prove I'm not crazy

That style was used in a lot of places all over Texas. Know there are a few left. The two before Houston have been gone since before 2005. Rdw

gg04 , I guess that's why I can't find any pics. Don't know why they tore them down, they weren't very old.

Cliff , when dragged into the men's room by someone ranting "you've got to see this", i was relieved (pun) to see it was an architectural feature. Can't imagine having to have used them in the rain, guess if you had to go you brought an umbrella

Thanks you all can redeem your prizes in florida

Are you sure you weren't on I-20? We ran into a TX rest area with SS toilets (and no seats) back in 2009 on I-20. I don't remember any murals but I do remember the no toilet seats in the Ladies bathrooms. Just all SS.
