Is it possible to incorporate a type of wabasto heater into the over the road bus heat and use that while parked?  Then using the bus heating system to heat the bus and motor at the same time while parked.

Yes.  You just need to isolate the interior heat/cooling from the engine heating/cooling system with shut-off valves.   I've been doing this for 12 years, but I am not going to explain it. It is very simple if you think it out.  But a lot of typing to give directions.

Go to the Webasto,Pro Heat or Ispar sites they will have the schematics for what you are asking. Only thing you need are low amp draw fans like a muffin the original motors in the OEM system will kill batteries in a hurry.
I used my heater and defroster of the original system with a muffin fan it sure kept the windshields free of ice and comfy .Unlike Geoff I used pumps to isolate instead of valves not hard to do

I've been doing it for years, but I dont isolate the engine.  I would think if you isolated the engine the unit would be running all the time just heating the loop of water.  After all, you'd have no heat sink.

And the Webasto becomes your block heater for those cold starts!

Ditto, my coach was doing it long before I owned it!

Depending on how much you use the coach, heating the engine does waste heat, the efficiency/economy of which is yours to choose.

happy coaching!
