Behind and along side the driver facing forward.  This also helped with motion sickness for some alpha passengers.  Always seated and belted in during movement unless coming and going from the head.

I have six of the original seats that are redone in leather.  Two are the first row on the passenger side, two are right behind them facing backwards, then a removable table and another two facing forward.  The six original seats have belts.  The left side of the coach has two couches.

Well I was thinking of mounting two additional captains chairs at a slightly higher level than the driver / passenger above the wheel wells that could rotate.

I did not know what the law is about passengers on the sofa / walking about while the bus is in motion.

I know as a kid I slept in a bunk / showered / cooked a meal while in motion and it was no big deal.

If you're riding on a Greyhound and you want to get up and go to the lav, do you have to stay in your seat with a seat belt fastened until the bus has come to a stop?  (I don't think so, but I'm not sure.)

I have five seats, forward facing, with seat belts but my bus's original configuration was with a side facing seat (no seat belt) over the wheel well opposite the driver.  I will retain that configuration, although I will be building a comfortable sofa with storage underneath.  I don't think that there's a legal need for seat belts on that sofa.

This is somewhat in conflict with my "design philosophy" -- comfortable room for cocktails (and tunes) for six, dinner for four, and sleeping for two -- but it seems the right thing to do for use of space and utility for passengers.
