So I have my new-to-me diesel gen set here and I am taking a first look at it.  The gent who gave it to me said it ran great but needed a voltage regulator.  So I take the top inspection panel off, and sure enough there is a clean spot where a voltage regulator would probably sit.  I take the lower inspection panel off, and there is a voltage regulator hanging down, with one wire off, and the rubber mounts clearly perished and let it fall.  So I take the part number and go wake up Mr. Google.  It's an LS type RS128A1, which is apparently a Leroy Somer brand and the current part is R129.  Easy to find, in stock, and $1700 freaking dollars for a freaking AVR?  What is up with that?  Hopefully the problem with this one is it fell off!

Anyway, it's a Deutz engine 15KW gen set that was a backup generator for a grocery store.  Free, so all I have to do is make it work.  It's for my house so I can put the bus generator back into the bus!   ;D

Contact Flight Systems for a replacement regulator, should find one for under $150.00.

I second the Flight System recommendation.  They have saved me a lot of money on Onan parts and have very good service.
