If its got worse by doing the O ring, did you do something wrong installing it?  There is a truck stop there and a Flying J to the east.  You sure dont want to venture far from there if you are unsure.  Theres not much else and if you are heading west you have a big climb coming up.

sorry about the big picture...but i was hoping to make it clearer things you may not be able to see.
there are only a few places oil can leak....
the small tube
the large hose
the blower end covers
the governor area
govenor rack control rods front to each head small short hoses
the valve covers
the end plate between the block and gear case

a gallon of oil makes a huge mess. do you have a huge mess ? the whole back end of your bus black ?

Back of bus and toad black..... No it got worse before I did the o-ring. Not leaking there. Looks like maybe the front blower cover or the back of the governor box very hard to get at. There is a Detroit dealer in Billings but it's 150 miles away and I'm down to my last gal. Of Dello 100. In a pinch is there any other oil that I can buy at a truck stop that won't kill the motor?

Adding 15w40 will not kill your motor.
I worked for a Chevron jobber or 20 years.. I know a lot of owners who ran Delo 400 for ever without any problems.
I would do it with out even batting an eye.

Well don't have many options here so I'll, have to do it. If its the front blower cover it looks like quite a job just to get to it

It does take a special o-ring 4 bucks from DD you losing that much oil it is a pressure leak not a return leak.install the correct seal and check the coupling you are not going to lose that much oil on the return side of the blower.

Those engines have 2 different styles of supply line and not knowing if you have the old style makes it hard to help it will pour if you installed a o-ring in a newer style tube. If you are on F/B I can show you how to fix that leak but photos here for me is impossible to post

The blower to block gasket ("blower mounting gasket") seals the return oil holes to the block.  I have changed several that have gotten hard and was the cause of an oil leak.

They will leak sometimes at the blower gasket but he is not going to lose a gal of oil every 50 mile from a gravity return and he said he made it worse by changing the o-ring.The rear mounted tach drives are famous for the strap or set screw breaking and causing a major leak too

Thanks folks. At the diesel shop mech. Says it's coming out close to a water pipe that's in the front of the blower in the center near the bottom. Keep u posted

No luck mechanic said he couldn't fix it and would have to get it to Detroit shop in Billings. Said it could be a bolt behind that water neck in the blower front cover that backed out or something. Anyway he thought the blower might have to come off
