What is the proper orientation of the DRIVE SHAFT on a PD4104?  Should the slip yoke point toward the Transmission or the Differential?

I have never seen one with the slip yoke pointed at the Differential.  I lost a cap off a new ujoint for some unknown reason.  Exciting ride with all the vibration it causes when it comes off, only going about 30 MPH.  One bolt was broken off and the other was missing.  I just can't accept the fact that I did not tighten the bolts and bend the locks over.  The other bolts were tight and locked.  The bus has many miles on it since I replaced the ujoint last spring, Upper Michigan to Arcadia Florida and several places in between.

John,

The manual shows (and states) the slip joint attached to the transmission and the fixed joint attached to the differential. So, pointed at the transmission would be correct.

This would be the case for all the GMs, as far as I know.
