We're redoing the interior of our bus and would like to put in a shower stall w/ a toilet in it.  We're having no luck finding one.  Does anyone have any ideas on where to find one?  Also, if anyone has any pros or cons on this idea they would be welcome.

Thanks and hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!  Crusty

Crusty- first off welcome to this unique style of travelling.
As to your toilet in shower, basically you'd have to make it.  Although, I believe Thetford makes an all in one "cassette" shower/toilet stall for big rig truck sleepers.  It is about 3.5' x 2', has the toilet, small sink w/shower hand held.  It is a molded fiberglass affair and the toilet has a 6 gallon removeable tank (think of a built in PortaPotti) that you can take out and dump it into a regular toilet.
Personally, I like separate.  My bathroom is 7ft x 4ft enclosed.  The sink and toilet use the front 4' x 4' space and the 3' x 3' shower stall the other with a 12" space inbetween the shower stall and the wall for linen storage.  Two can use it at the same time.  And since my bus is a transit, I built the bathroom on the right side of the bus around the back door so you can enter directly into the bathroom from the outside without going through the rest of the bus.  Also, have a separate door to the shower from the hallway along with the accordian door from the shower to the toilet area.  Just my way.  Good Luck, TomC

Crusty:

Welcome aboard!  What kind of bus do you have?

You will find out if you spend any time on this board at all, that you are only limited to your imagination and pocketbook.  There are several style rv shower/toilet combos similar to the ones TomC mentioned.

Main thing, find one that meets your needs and have fun!!

Crusty,

In the mid 70's I had a truck camper that had a bathroom/shower/lavatory combination.  It was all molded plastic and was quite small (about 30' by 36").
It was in a Coachman truck camper.

You might look at some RV salvage sites and find a simiilar unit in good shape.

Hi Crusty,

Are you looking for just the shower pan with the ability to mount the toilet on the non-shower part of the pan?

If so you might look here:

I'm not recommending this business (I haven't done business with them) but happened to remember seeing those shower pans.

And since I'm a new forum member and this is my first post please let me say hello to all the good folks here.  I've been reading for a few days now and there's a wealth of knowledge and a wellspring of inspiration here.

[Acutally it's Gumpydog's fault...I read his web site (yes...the whole darn thing; and by the way, I'm waiting for more!) and followed his trail to the forum here.]

All the best...

Bobs RV salvage in HIgh Springs FL for a used one. 386 454 5733.  New you might find at any of the Elkhart Indianna salvage places.
Are you really sure you want  a combo unit? Have you had one and been happy with it?

Crusty, I just saw one at the local auto junk yard. N W  Pa.  They seem to get a few RVs and travel trailers in.  Might try local.  Tom Y

I have been looking for a link like those shower pans with a toilet mount for a while. I found another one and I would post the link but its on my other computer.

My only question is.... how does something like this affect resale value?

I can be comfortable using something so small... but can others.

Does anyone know if having an "all in one" shower dramatically will lower the value of what your building?

The only comment I can make is that if I happened to be looking at a bus, the combo bath would not just reduce the value, it would put it completely out of the running.

I agree with Len, but are building this to sell or building this for your ouwn use?  If you plan to keep this for many years, I would build it to suit you. If this type of bathroom is important to you and you use of the bus, that is the way I would build it.  If this style is not that important, I would consider other options.  Jack
