I just purchased a 1968 Challenger and will start a thread w/questions in the appropriate forum.
If there are any members with insight on this unit or other ones like it I'd love some insight.

Hi Kelly, would your 1968 Challenger be a one rear axel MCI5A or a two rear axle MCI7? Is it a tax axle if its a seven lr possible two full axles, called a combo? Tell us more ! Pictures and more info will locate busnuts near you, good luck and welcome, lvmci...

I quit racing Husqvarnas in 88 a couple of years after they got acquired by Cagiva when the factory left Sweden and I moved over to the Jap bikes. The days of European dominance had already been dead for an easy 10 years. I still love my old Huskys and Maicos for vintage class but don't get to race as often as I did up until my late 40's.

Guess you figured out it's an offroad racing motorcycle mfg.
You can mount from either side but they only kick started from the left and most riders could only kick start with their right leg so they had to dismount and stand beside the bike, I raced them for almost 20 years and had adapted to a mounted kick start as an early teenager.

Thank y'all for bringing me aboard. I was previewing the site and it looks like a lot of enthusiasts participate.
My primary objective is to use her to pull my cigarette boat with but I'm afraid that the bus & trailer's total length will be to long for DOT
If it is I'll probably sell or use it on our annual summer trips to National Forests to ride dirt bikes and quads w/kids & grandkids.
I really think she's to special to be relegated to such dirty duty and would be in better hands of an avid enthusiast who would love and appreciate her 46 years of service. Her history hit a homerun in my heart and you have no idea what a step back in time it is once you step aboard and how well she shows for her age.
I posted a thread in the project forum, take a look if y'all get a chance.
I told my heavy mechanic service to survey it and give me an appraisel of what he would do if it was his and was contemplating a 2000 mile trip this spring.

Cliff somebody told me on here that they didn't let you back in Texas. LOL. I'm a hundred miles West of Houston and about 18 miles north of I 10.  Got a 50 amp plug and sewer dump if you ever need it and that goes for all the folks a passing though and want to stop for a day or two.

A 1968 Challenger?  Do you mean a three-axle 1968 MCI MC-7 Challenger or a two-axle 1968 MCI MC-5A Challenger?
