I am sorry to report that we are officially off for 2015. We are getting started way too late to do a proper job of promoting an event for 2015. Potential attendees need adequate lead-time to plan for such an event that requires (for most) great travel distances, etc. As you know, planning for a cross-country trip in a 50+ year old bus requires lots of advance maintenance and planning. Not to mention, folks that work, need to ask for vacation time well in advance. I told them no hard feelings, and maybe we can do something in the future.

If you know of the whereabouts of a PD4501 Scenicruiser - I would like to add the serial number to my registry of surviving Scenics.  www.tomsgarageonline.com

I'm holding my head in between my hands in my lap and crying like a baby.

Perhaps it's for the better, Tom.  It would be hard to beat the 2013 event that you put together, you set the bar high.

I suspect that if Megan hadn't left, it would have been a go.  She was quite the spark in the spark plug!

Yes to what Boomer said. Have never felt more welcome in any town. The town folks just welcomed everyone.

Was the most buses from all over the country and every kind.

Got to meet a lot of the folks that I hear about on the boards.

just a great time. Hope to have another one while  am still able to get about.

Tom, what was the gentleman's name that helped Megan and you put it together, can't remember it? L.C. or something like that. Would he be any help to you or has he left town?

Set it up for the summer of 2016. Plenty of time to get the word out. I hope to be able to be on a country tour and would like to include it as a destination.

LC is who I am working with. He was a volunteer, and is involved in just about every civic and social group in that town. Just stretched too thin I would guess. They had a job posting on their "main street Blytheville" website for Meagan's old job listed as: "executive director of Main Street Blytheville" , now I see it has been removed, and LC is listed in that position. So maybe he took the job. If I was single, and much younger, and could afford to take a huge pay cut, it would be a really cool job. For a bus guy, it's a dream job. Where better to have your office than the backroom of the former Greyhound restored terminal! Not sure if I would want to live there....but it was fun to visit.

Actually the job is still posted on "calendar" section of their site.

Maybe I should send my resume! Funny....the first time I saw that depot all boarded-up, and in sad shape about 15 years ago. My immediate first thought was: " I could buy this place, restore it, and live in it". Wow what an idiot!

Wives are supposed to be the voice-of-reason right....mine said "wow that sounds like a cool idea". Thank God it had already been bought by the city for restoration. (I called the realtor from the sign) Otherwise I may still be figuring out how to disassenble and move a Greyhound depot from Arkansas to Illinois!
