Hi All,

Im starting to gather all the parts for my braking system, and Im wondering if anyone has a source for aftermarket brakes for the MCI-9, as the stealership prices can tend to cause heart problems.

This site has loads of parts for cheap, but I'm not sure if any of these brake kits will work. Can any of you identify which might be the right brakes here?

Hi;
     Try Mohawk ind or Luke in New Jersey.  Do a google search for phone numbers etc.
     Great people to do business with.  Both really know busses.
                                                       Good luck

    When looking for bus brake parts --- use the words COACH brake parts... The bushings for the S cams are  nylon (plastic) or metal I prefer plastic, same as big truck, some springs are different.
     And if you are handy, check your drums after they are turned and you may be able to order up to 3x over size, but be careful.  My R front was super snug.
     Brake blocks are just that, you unbolt the old blocks, but make certain how you remove  old blocks and install in same position on shoe!!!

Hey Brian,

The tripod link doesn't work on my computer, but if that's US Coach Repair in New Jersey, that's the "Luke" everyone is talking about. If so, he's awesome. He knows buses inside and out, and is amazing to do business with. His full name is Luke Bonagura, and his number should be saved on your phone. Super guy, and very knowledgeable.

Right, this is US Coach Repair in NJ, which happened to be the same place that Luke is at.

I'm located in VA. and I have bought all of my parts for my 87 MCI-9 from Luke for the past 7 years. You can't go wrong, and he has always been willing to share his wisdom and advice.

I believe Luke is off on Fridays?
