Well, Ray didnt want the job so it go turned to a dealer in Tifton, GA.  Guess they installed the Jake but didnt know they had to program it on the ECM.  2 weeks of work and now the bus is heading west with a non working Jake.  Pretty bad deal all around from how I hear it.

That may not be as simple as turning the Jake on in the ECM what version of DDEC is it ?

I think the Eagle originally was a 2 but they put a 3 in it.  Then again they may not know for sure.

Since I have no idea about any DDEC setups, I would wire the Jake to a switch at operator position, and use as needed.
But what else would a 4th grade drop out do ?

If it is wired right any shop with a Pro/Link can activate the Jake and set the % of braking if it is a III

Good Call, Dave..Computers seem to just get in the way

Took my MC-5A for a spring test drive today Montrose -> Whitewater -> Gateway -> Norwood (Norwood hill is a great test for the jake on the 8V-71) -> Ridgway -> Home...Winter cooling system work tested just fine.  Headed to El Centro, CA next month for family reunion.

Everything works!!!

Not a good idea to hook Jakes up direct on a DDEC IMO plus he may have a electronic transmission

And yet they spent another 10 hr/$780 day at a Detroit shop and no working jake.  Wow, where have all the mechanics gone??

If the Jake wasn't in the program you have to go back to DD and pay them to add the jake to the program.  One of my friends had a DD3 that didn't have the Jake in the program. With help from Ken he got it turned on in the program, but for some reason the Jake still isn't working.
