Hi Friends,
I'm running a 6-71N It has a Luberfiner bypass filter. It holds almost 3 gallons of oil.
I have changed the oil and filters every 6000 miles for the last 10 years.
I'm thinking I don't really need it.
If I take it off, can I just plug the holes and forget it?
Thanks
Jerry

You certainly can.  I would leave it though, and just not change the filter as often.

Thanks for the advice, Rick.

When I turbo'd my engine, we disconnected the luberfiner since we needed the extra oil pressure for the turbo. I used to change the oil every other year, now just change it every year. Good Luck, TomC

I would remove the Luberfiner the 3 gals extra is a over kill for 6-71 anyway the 1 qt size is enough for a 6-71 if you want a by pass filter
