Im having my motor rebuilt. Are there any suggestions about breaking it in during the first new miles?  I have the vs2 transmission and will be going from 6500 feet to sea level, all kinds of terrain

Thanks,

Take it easy for 100 miles if you choose then go that was one of the beauty parts of the DD rebuild it, install and hammer down it won't hurt it, ask the shop guy they send those out to the oil patch and hit the deck wide open

good luck

If possible, consider going to the 3 speed model without all the electronical stuff?  Then also consider going that extra 30-40% on the Detroit engine rebuild costs to upgrade to an "inexpensive" 8V71TI or exchange?  Might be money well spent, considering the power increase and the increased joy of driving your Bus Conversion.  Just thinking out loud.  HB of CJ (old coot)  Why have about 300 hp when you can have nearly 400?
