Well Bus Nuts, here we are.

Paul and Becky Lawry
Tustin California
Moving to Abilene Texas December 2006

1968 Eagle 01, Serial #7443, last 01 made
DD8V71, 4 speed manual crash box

Purchased in 2003. Been working on the interior, about half done. Then we can work on the outside, new paint and polish. She's not pretty, but she's ours free and clear.
We named the coach Dreamscape, it has been a dream of ours for a long time to travel this beautiful country.

Happy trails and hope to see you on the road.

Hi All, been receiving the magazine for some time, but just recently checked out the forum.  Here are a few pictures of our 1955 SceniCruiser.  She has a very basic conversion, with the old 8V71 and Spicer trans still installed, but is practical with Onan 6.5 and large tanks.  We have added Alloys and new rubber this year, have an Allison HT750 in the garage, and looking for an 8V92TA to do a re-power, hopefully in '07, if I find an engine.
We use the bus to tow a 35-foot Haulmark trailer for our nostalgia gasser drag car.
More pictures of the bus, and our cars can be found on our web site, if your interested;

Hi All, First time posting pictures, and somehow flattened the bus and trailer picture.  Hopefully this one posts clearer.

Finally figured out how to post these pictures... After much aggravation and frustration. I've been at it seen yesterday! Anyway, I've got 3 more of the interior.

Here is the last one. Odviously I'm still doing something wrong cause they don't look very good. I took them using the e-mail setting on the camera. They are still too big to post under the max. 128kb allowed, so I reduce them to get under that, and they look fuzzy...

Anyway, she was built in Winnipeg for Greyhound, then sold to Brewster Transport in the mid sixties. I used to drive it in the seventies, and when it was sold in '77, I thought it would make a great motorhome. The buyer then did the first conversion. I got it a couple of years ago. Did a reno inside last winter in 50's theme to match the exterior. This winter, I'm installing a turbo on the 4-71 to give me more power. I really love the old girl. Brings back so much memories... The big old ivory steering wheel, the roar of the 2 stroke from the back, the hand throttle to go uphill with the 4 ways on... We use it a lot in the summer. It even grew on my wife and kids.

I'll post some better pics when I know how.

I went out and took pics again. This time at 640x480, standard quality instead of fine, e-mail mode instead of normal, comes out at 921.6 KB. Let's see.

Well that's not too bad, better than before. Thank you for putting up with me...

Here comes 3 more of the interior that I remodelled last winter. I found the original driver's seat and pax front bench that I got fresly upholtered, as well as the little walls behind the driver and alongside the stair-well with chrome hand rails. I wanted to go back to original as much as possible around the front. Stools are by the Zellers diners suplyer. Counter tops are "Boomerang" motif by Formica. The ribbed aluminum edging (not very visible on these pics) I robbed off of an old cabinet I had in the shop. Chrome drawer pulls are out of an old house being reno-ed. The ceiling was all covered in vinyl. I stripped it all off to go back to the smooth metal. Double bed in back, couch pulls out. I put in a swamp cooler above driver. Works quite well in dry climate here in the west, keeps us cool for driving or boon-docking. There is a air cond further back. Anyway, we have lots of fun with it.

Flyboy

Hi all,

Our first bus!!  We have two boys 4 and 6 and have spent lots of time travelling through North America and MEX in a Mazda 626!!

This ride is going to be a definite step up!!

1954 PD4104, 6v71, was a Greyhound in SFO for first ten years if her life, US Army in Arizona 23 years, converted to RV by Bruce Coach in BC, Canada, used as an RV ever since.

We bought it on Halloween night this year, going to do a bit of upgrading of the interior.  It was a great deal at $17K Canadian pesos!!

IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I'M NOT GOING!
