Finished Paint and Roof Coating

Over the past two weekends I finished the paint and roof coating. Sprayed the Epoxy Primer, Base and Clear with DeVILBISS FinishLine 3 Guns. The complete the job used approximately 2.5 Gallons of Omni Epoxy Primer, 2 Gallons of Victory Red Base and 3.5 Gallons of Clear. For the roof I used Flexible Roof Coating AES-125.

Sharp. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but did you do all that outdoors or indoors?

Grant, I have a top speed of about 65 so if it looks like I'm going 70 I'm happy. Lol

I did all the work outdoors. There are a few bugs in the clear but not many.

I will also say that applying the epoxy got interesting since my roof is curved.

Buddy, I bought a couple of gallons of Roof-Kote, a gallon of the "already-painted" primer, and a gallon of the clear last week. The Management wants a vacation for the next couple of weeks so it will be a while before I can apply it but I'm looking forward to getting it on. That's a nice job you did on your bus.

I am really satisfied with the AES-125 Epoxy Roof Coating. It has a nice smooth finish and should be easy to maintain. The biggest issue I had was the coating has a tendency to run on the curved portion of my roofline. There is a noticable difference on the inside temerature after application.

I'm glad to hear about the difference in temperature; since my bus has two levels, I've noticed a "chimney effect" -- I don't have air condtioning working yet but if I leave a window downstairs open toward the breeze and a window open upstairs on the downwind side of the bus, I get a really good cool air flow through the bus even up into the 90
's. I hope that the roof paint helps even more. The website says that the clear coat makes a big difference in keeping the roof clean and protecting the actual roof coat itself so I bought it with the roof coat and the primer for already painted roofs (the primer is a no brainer since the paint on my roof -- while in good shape -- is about 5 years old). The product that I'm using says that it can be sprayed, brushed or rolled but they recommend rolling, I'm going to see how that works on the edges.
