Where do I begin to search for a new muffler for a 1989 Eagle model 20 of New Jersey origin?

United Muffler is a good starting place Atr they have good prices does your 20 have the catalytic converter ?

So far I've gotten lucky.  The lot where I store my coach was a car dealership in its earlier like.  And they had an alignment machine that sat over a pit.  The pit had been filled with concrete blocks. I can now back my coach until my rear wheels are about a foot from the wall.  Much better than blocking it up. 

Tomorrow morning I hope to get the muffler and tail pipe off.  How do I tell if I have a catalytic converter?  I do have a section of the tail pipe that is about 2 inches larger in diameter than the tail pipe.  Would I want to replace it with a piece of tail pipe?

The pipe you are talking about is a resonator pipe toss it you won't notice any more nosie ,with the resonator pipe I doubt your 20 has a catalyic muffler

I just finished extracting the muffler.  I think they built the bus around it.  I have a transmission question and I will begin another thread.  I'm getting too old to much duck walking but the pit was a great advantage.  Now to my local, 45 miles, truck supply to see if she can find me a new one from dimensions.  I'll take the old with me.

That sounds like getting the radiator out of my bus.  I'm pretty sure they installed the radiator first and then installed the engine.  It was a full day job for two guys to get it out.

Good luck on finding a muffler.  I would suggest looking at Nelson Global Products.  I thought Nelson had been bought by Fleetguard, but Fleetguard no longer lists mufflers at all.  I probably need to replace a section of exhaust pipe this summer as it is quite corroded.
