I live in West Nyack , NY

A little too cold right now to work on it, but I have gutted the previous conversion from the 80's.( way too much shag carpeting for me) I would start with insulating the bus from the ceiling down, the insulation there now looks original as well as the ceiling panels and looks like it gets wet from condensation, would like to know the best material to use against the metal surfaces , by the way I hope I can get a lot of feed back from members willing to give advice as I go, I will try to post pictures too. Thanks again, Nel

Nel -

PD4104-4519 was delivered new as fleet number P-7541 to Western Greyhound Lines, HQ'd in San Francisco, CA.  It was part of a 75-bus order that was delivered in February and March of 1960.  Based on it's sequence in the order (4478-4553), I'm going to guess that it actually was delivered in the early part of March, as it was #41 out of 75.

So you can legitimately tell folk that you own a "Jen-u-wine retired Greyhound bus."   ;D

FYI, if you haven't seen it in some of my other postings, WGL had one of the BEST maintenance shops in the Greyhound organization during the timeframe your coach was part of their fleet (1960-1970), so for at least the first ten years of it's life it was well taken care of.

Greetings all,

I have to apologize for the last total I posted. The numbers did not match in 2 places (my way of double checking). It appears that I have a mystery formula adding buses that don't exist in my database. I found an error on Line 2215.of 5100 lines (on my Excel spreadsheet). Somehow a formula was adding buses to my total. I guess it can happen, because it did. So I spent my weekend looking at every line and found the error.

The corrected numbers for the surviving coaches are:
(These do not include new numbers received over the weekend).

Conversions - 202
Noted on web - 33
Scrapped - 50
Still a bus/shell - 16

Total of 301

2 owners are converting their coaches to being a bus again.
