Bus Busted

Thanks to "DemoDriver", I now have a second bus. I bought his 1984 Eagle Model 10. Gave it a quick once over, gave it a bath and shined the rims, and went on a shakedown trip. Drove it down to the Nashville area for a few days then back up to Indianapolis. Thought about seeing Busted Knuckle while I was down there, but he was in Indianapolis at the time. We might have even passed each other. I plan on spending a few days poking around the insides of this thing like I did my MCI 102, just to see what's where. If anyone can hook me up with any manuals on this it would be great. I have the MCI 6v92 manual, but no clue on the wiring chart or other info on this bus. I also signed up on the Eagles International Forum as "Country Eagle". I have included pictures because I'm not sure what skin this has (I hear there are 3 types). I want to make this a single door like my MCI, but will need to buy the right skin to match. Also need to look up the best way to clean the skin it has.

I have some thinking to do about the future of my 102A3, but there will be lots of time for that.

P.S. For those that haven't followed, the MCI 102a3 has the heads off and looks to need new rings. The Eagle is a stick and I like an auto trans like in the MCI 740 so there might be a swap coming.

Busted Knuckle

As you already know you have a real gem there! Sodrel and his "Free Enterprise System" were/are very professional about maintenance.

Those coaches were kept in tip top shape at all times.

You have aluminum siding. It comes in matt, and polished finish. Both are anodized. The only other option was the fluted stainless, which I know was on NJT buses. DO NOT USE any cleaner like purple power or the wash used in the truck washes. It will turn it milky white and it DONT COME OFF!! I cant tell from the pics. But I suspect it it the matt finish.

matt finish

polished or mirror finish

Hope this helps. I may have enough for a door. P.M. if interested.

Jon,Sonnie Gray has plenty of the siding also give him a call if you need some, him or I either one can help you build the one piece door that one is going to be a little tricky with all the model 15 stuff on the front not many 10 parts on the front of that one even the side windows are model 15.

good luck

Keep driving the bus and you will get the hang of the manual trans and probably end up liking it.

I already mis the bus and I'm on the hunt for a fully converted one already.

Good luck with it!

Ericbsc

You shoulda just brought it on over to South Carolina and left it with me to convert for you!!LOL That way you wouldn't be looking for another one. BTW I really like the tall windshields, and that is a clean looking bus. Might be hard to find another eagle that clean.

demodriver

I hated the tall windshield for a couple reasons. I know I probably won't ever find another one in that good of shape but I just don't have the time to mess with one. I WILL have a converted one by the end of the year one way or another.

I appreciate any leads you may come across.
