Why did we start having problems we never have in the past and it couldn't be just the IP some of us live 2000 miles from each other I can get there by using Jim's method and I have tried with 3 different computers and browsers no other site is a problem

good luck

Why does someone start having problems with their bus engine after not having for many miles? Because things happen... You have to maintain and repair a website just like with an engine.

I have documented why we started having problems. A hacker in France found a backdoor into an SQL database that was hosted on the server and was able to knock the server out. That was a couple of months ago. So we built a new server and changed the IP and reinstalled everything. (Kinda like an out of the frame overhaul) The new server went live in mid-October. Other than Saturday when the RAM module had to be replaced, there has been no downtime on the server.

Now having said all of that... specific ISPs might be slower rebuilding their DNS caches, or may have other issues with their DNS server. Or there can be DNS issues on specific machines that have to be flushed and updated. But that still does not mean the server is down. The fact that you can get there using Jim's method shows that it is not the site, Clifford. The site is working.

Did you click the link in my last post like I asked? What did it say?

We can argue this all day long but in the end, it is still not the server. If it was, NO ONE would be able to get to it. Trust me on this. I won't argue Detroit engine stuff with you. This is my area and I wish you would just tell me the error you are having so I can try to help you get it working. As I said before, just saying 'it isn't working' doesn't help any.

I just installed a piece of software so that I will receive a text message any time the Eagle site goes down. That should help figure out where the issues are.

Have you tried with a different ISP, Clifford? I would imagine that all three computers in your house are using the same ISP...

Click the link and tell me what it says so I can help figure something out.

That's just like those Frenchies to invade from the back door.

Is it possible that Clifford or some of the others having problems were on the Eagles board when the Hacker invaded their back door and molested their computers too?

Just asking, as I know didiliy squat about computers! But I do know those sneaky Frenchies are known to be back door bandits.

No, they didn't get into the Eagle site at all. All they did was a find a way in to knock the server out. It sounds like in both Clifford's case and Jim's that it is an ISP DN server issue since they can both get to the site through the proxy. The proxy is basically like they are bypassing their ISP and logging in from somewhere else.

Through this whole ordeal I have always been able to get on the Eagle site. The first time that I could not get on it was last Saturday. That was the day the server was down. I am on the site from my work computer and the bosses computer at home. ( and that is the one we travel with. ) God knows that I send to much time on the site so I would be the first to see a problem. The good thing about that is if there is a problem I have no idea how to go about fixing it. This ISP and MPH and GOP stuff goes right over my head. All I know is when I turn the thing on it works and if it doesn't my 11 year old grandson will fix it. ( his Dad is a real geek so he had a good teacher) I really don't think it is the site or I would be the first to have problems.

Thank You Wayne

I guess its just me but I use to get on the board in the mornings but not evening. I GIVE UP!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( This is all I see now:

Network Error (dns_server_failure)

Your request could not be processed because an error occurred contacting the DNS server.

Don't give up, Eric. Check the link I sent you. You said that when you clicked the link about it said that the site was up. The link I sent you shows that other Wildblue customers, specifically in the Carolinas, are having the same problems as you. In the link I sent you, a specific Wildblue customer is saying he is getting the exact same error you say you get, while others are saying they see the site fine. Like I keep saying, if anyone can see the site then the site is working. This guy called Wildblue and after some work and getting bumped up the ladder, they fixed their issue and he stopped getting the errors.

Look at the error you posted:

The DNS Server is your ISP. And it says "contact your network support team". That is also your ISP.

Here is the link I mentioned above for anyone who is interested:

I continue to have problems with HughesNet. Can get on maybe 1 time in 10.

If I can't get on I use a proxy server.

Today I can't get on using my iPhone and it has never failed. Did the isitme site and it said the site was up. Error message said Safari could not find server.
