I was just thinking about how lucky I am to live in Washington DC as a bus nut. You wouldn't believe the bus porn I see on a daily basis guys :-)

Just the other night I was driving back from a party at around 5.30am and as I sat at a red light, 16 matching brand new MCI's turned left in front of me heading into Reagan National Airport a couple of blocks away.

I swear to God I see over 100 on an average day, excluding transits obviously. Frankly DC is built for urban boon docking for someone with local knowledge, something I plan on taking advantage of at some point :-)

Cheers, Paul.

Yeah, I lived in Alexandria VA for about 30 years.  After I got interested in buses, it was like kid in candy store.  Good luck, and enjoy!

I envy you sir. I was in D.C. for my vacation back in '00 and there were those beautiful monsters all over the place. I only wish I would have had a digital camera back then. :)
I still remember the good old day before 9-11-01 when I used to go to O'Hare(I live in Milwaukee) and could walk to the gates about every 6 months or so and just walk around the airport to watch planes, people and listen to the scanner and have lunch and a couple beers. There were buses everywhere down there. There were buses circulating on the tarmac shuttling employees then there were countless rental car and hotel buses coming in. Plus regional buses coming in and out all the time. Then there was the bus I rode down on from the Milwaukee airport. Oh yes, the good old days.

You can only imagine the eye rolls from my girlfriend as I excitingly explain the features and benefits of various makes and models :-)

I actually live 4 blocks from Chinatown so all the NY busses and Bolt and Mega drive past the other end of my block.

The Double decker Megas look cool but they are Vanhools :-(

Cheers, Paul.

Must be nice. In Boise ID I'm Lucky to see one a month. Only entertainers. Just last week I did see a MC 5 going west on I84. Put a smile on my face.  First converted bus I've seen around here.
