I've got one side thats cracked. As i was looking to see what it may take to fix [rubber molding etc.] i was wondering if the center divider allows you to change just one side or do you have to take both windows out and start over with new molding, i do have the spare window .            thanks Jerry

You can change it with out removing the other astrolight window.Note this is the GMC Coach name for the glass.
If the rubber channel and lock bead is old and cracked time for a new channel.
Channel part number 2463223
Might try Luke at US Coach for a replacement harness.Luke will have the lock bead part number and the lock bead.

PS don't use a screwdriver when installing the new window use the nylon glass installation tool. ;D

Jerry,

This is not a difficult install, as I did it a few months ago.  I got a pair of some N.O.S. windows from a gentlemen in MA.  I think it was his last set, but I will get you his contact info when I get home.  Real glass ones are generally made from Unobtainium.

If you can't find a glass one, I would recommend making a paper template of the glass you take out, and get a piece of tinted lexan to replace it.  A good plastics fab shop should be able to heat it and bend it to the glass profile.  The flat 1/4 inch thick lexan will not bend enough to fit into the rubber channel.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of using a generic channel and lockbead, but wasn't sure how the center divider was tied in , is the divider and channel made to fit as a unit? Also where can i get this installation   tool. I was lucky the PO had  already bought the glass before i got the bus 6 years ago. THanks  again jerry

The channel center divider has a thick steel strip that the rubber channel fits around so you will need to buy the proper channel.
Luke might lend you the proper installation tool when you buy the channel from him. ;D
Or you can buy one from the Snap On tool truck is where I got mine and it was a wise investment.
