Dear Friends,

Hope I am not boring you with my posts.

When we got the driver's area floor area taken up (rotted plywood), we discovered that the front framework behind the stainless steel skin was very rusty. It almost appears as if the vehicle left the factory with no primer on the framing. Is that possible?

So it was cut out and will be replaced with a newly-formed rib section.

Once the steel is replaced, and if your skin is aluminum-be sure to install a rubber insulator between the steel and aluminum to prevent galvanic corrosion.  My AMGeneral bus has steel ribs with aluminum skin and is 34 years old.  Except for two small places in the exterior skin (where I expect the rubber insulator has worn through) the exterior skin is void of any corrosion bubbles.  Good Luck, TomC
