Article Quote:  Traffic was stopped for more than two hours after the crash, as rescue crews attended to the wounded and cleared the wreckage.

So on top of being in one whale of a bus wreck, some evidently got shot?  Maybe they ought to change that to "attended to the injured and cleared the wreckage."

Don't you just love the news ......

And thank the good Lord, in spite of this person's careless driving, nobody was, as they say in the South, "seriously killed".

Wounds are only caused by bullets? Not in my dictionary.

As it happens my Dad sent me a link yesterday to a story about a bus crash in my parent's town - only a minor crash but big news in their house as my Mum would ordinarily have been on that very bus.

(For those interested, the bus is an Optare Solo. It's of some interest to me as I had a tour round the Optare factory a few years ago.)

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

Good point, the word can be used as a noun, verb, or adjective I believe.  I still think it should have been injured, all but four received some kind of injury.  You can be bruised (injured) or cut up (wounded) so ... Who knows?  Just like this little ditty last week on channel five, "the body was found, hanging from a tree, wrapped in chains.  Police suspect foul play."

I mean .... duh?

My boss used to say ... "Something OTHER than discipline will be applied in this case."  And I would think, "Oh gawd, they are going to kill us!"

Seriously killed that is cool, has to be a new one for me.

No never seen a dead band or DJ but some that were close too it or should have been!

But it does remind me of some yrs back when I was in Tunica on New Years Eve and killing time @ the black jack table next to the cashiers booth while "Michael Twitty" and his band were playing. @ some point during a slow quiet period one of the cashiers said "they need to play something I know!" to which (I thought) I quietly replied "they need to play something they know!" to which I got "amen",  "you got that right", "buy that man a drink" , and several other "cat calls from 6 surrounding tables and the whole line of cashiers. (and I thought I said it rather quietly, but I reckon I didn't!
