It strikes me that the toad is worth more than what it's being hauled in, Ned.

If I was to guess I'd say that photo was taken in Britain. Certainly looks like a typical British campsite scene, and the silver & black registration (license) plate on the Chevy is of a type which is unusual but nontheless legal on classic cars here (pre 1963 I think).

At one time every low-budget race team here would solve their transportation needs by buying a cheap mid-engined coach and converting it in this way. Even now, when I tell people that I've got a bus which I use to travel to sailing events, they very often assume that I'm carrying the boat inside the bus.

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

That coachwork doesn't look familiar to me.   I'm thinking maybe Harrington, or Alexander.   Who else did slanty windows in the UK?   Isn't the roof too high for a British coach?   And what's with the protuberance above the back (older UK coaches didn't have AC)?  Or could it be in Australia or New Zealand?   Nah, it's too green for Australia.   Any sheep visible in the background?
