Hi all,

quick question: looking for buying a captains driver and co-pilot seat for my short bus.  Ive been seeing a bunch but nothing really under $600.00 for one.  Is there anyplace you can suggest to look for cheaper or do i need to just need to get it.  If the seat is in bad condition cloth wise i can just add a cover.  Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Have a look at car seats - or more specifically seats from minivans / MPVs, or SUVs. Some have armrests on both sides and have swivel bases etc - or you can mount them on aftermarket swivel bases.

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

We got a pair for our old van from one of those "self serve" junk yards. You just have to make sure the seat base will fit or that the bolts will line up with your existing seat base.  I couldn't find anything new for the $600 range.

Check the self serve junk yards for "conversion vans" or check the RV salvage yards and even the "RY Surplus" outlets near Southbend/Elkhart area.

I got mine from a place that converts vans to handicapped vans, here is one of their units on ebay 130497479052

A little over a 120 plus shipping each.

We used a couple of seats from a Ford Minivan.  They do not look especially royal, but are comfortable and have armrests.  It did take some adaption to get them to fit on the standard RV pedestals that we have.  I would guess that seat made specifically for RVs/conversions would just bolt in without any modification.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

I just bought 2 flexsteel leather seats all electric. Passanger with electric foot rest. Both for 350.00 from rv surplus in elkhart indiana. The best is if you are in the area go in and look. There are 2 major rv surplus stores there. This is Disney World for Bus NUts!!! I am going there on the 18th from there I am heading to SC. If anyone wants anything picked up I would be happy too.
