I custom built the couch it is 7ft 6 inches long had to make it long enough to hold all 6 of our kids. We only have 465 dollars in to it and a lot of love. And mama loves it so everybody loves it.

don,t laugh to hard about the bay beds, I was at a campground last summer and a guy had his Bays airconditioned and his teenage kids were sleeping on air mattress in the bays. had inside release handles and all. It seemed to work great for them and the kids liked the privacy.

I have seen pics of a big money coach that had a "hideaway for the kids" trap door thru a couch cushion , all decked out for play and video. Kids could not open from inside but be unlocked and opened by adult from outside

Mike,

Really nice!

Any words of wisdom or caution for someone considering doing the same thing?

Very, very nice!! Im curious what you are doing with the corner space there. Do you have a lazy susan for storage of extra stuff to make it easy to get to? or do you maybe have a water tank or something else hiding there? or maybe another door/drawer on the other side? What kind of fabric and foam/stuffing did you use? Very nice job!

Yeah, these are all questions that I'd like to know answers to as well.  How much space do you think you lost by going to the "bend around" corner?  It's a beautiful job and the fact you got it done for so little is wonderful.  Good work,  Bruce H

Also interested in build details (and larger photos). Picasa is easy for this.

Very cool looking BTW!
