don,t laugh to hard about the bay beds, I was at a campground last summer and a guy had his Bays air-conditioned and his teenage kids were sleeping on air mattress in the bays. had inside release handles and all. It seemed to work great for them and the kids liked the privacy.

The way my wife and kids accuse me of snoring like an 8V71 on a downgrade with the Jake Brake on, I just hope they don't read this and send ME to the cargo bay!

Very, very nice!! Im curious what you are doing with the corner space there. Do you have a lazy susan for storage of extra stuff to make it easy to get to? or do you maybe have a water tank or something else hiding there? or maybe another door/drawer on the other side? What kind of fabric and foam/stuffing did you use? Very nice job!

The cushions are made from 4 1/2 inch high density foam, the arms are stuffed with 2 layers of quilt batting and the fabric comes from a RV surplus store in Indiana.  I used faux leather upholstery from JoAnn's to cover the base of the couch.  I have a hidden door under the cushion to reach the far back corner for storage.  As far as space is concerned, we actually will have more space than the original configuration.  We are removing 3 couches and replacing them with the one shown here, as well as making the passenger chair swivel to be part of the living area.  We are removing this huge monster of a TV cabnet to make more room as well, and will replace it with a flat screen either above the drivers area or behind the fire place that will be directly across from the couch.  I should be busy for a while.
BTW thank you all for your compliments!!!

Mike,

Really nice!

Any words of wisdom or caution for someone considering doing the same thing?

Cliff

Cliff; I drew it up on paper first so I had all the right dementions, and let the wife pick out the fabric!! One word of advise.... DONT put the electric screw driver bit threw your finger........ That will get your attention in a hurry!  :-\

The frame is made of 2x2's and 1/2 inch plywood and 3 lbs of screws, its not overly heavy, but will hold up against 6 teenagers and preteens.
I will do final touchups after we install and will post more pics.  By the way it matches the new carpet I have to put down as well.
