Clifford,
I know exactly how he feels! I just barley caught one of those beams @ Minneapolis-St. Paul airport several yrs ago.
Even though I barely caught it with a roof hatch, it scared the crap out of me and destroyed the hatch it self.
It was clearly mis-marked as the bus I was in was shorter that the beam was supposed to have been.
And I have been informed by other busnuts that they see other buses stopped in the same place and backing up.
Luckily I did not do any damage to the bus just the hatch. Paul Hastings helped me take the rest of the hatch off and cover it with plywood for my return trip to TN. Once home I had it fixed in less than an hr by stealing the hatch off our parts bus.

SO A WORD OF ADVISE TO ALL OF YOU! IF THE POSTED HEIGHT IS EVEN SLIGHTLY CLOSE TO YOUR KNOWN HEIGHT CRAWL UP TO IT WHILE CHECKING FOR CLEARANCE IT COULD SAVE YOU $ AND EMBARRASSMENT!

Why was the link deleted?

Advertising/Spamming the board.   It is believed that he is a part of that business.

*********** Link removed due to no spamming/advertising.

Umm, OK, I understand why the original link was deleted.  But the one Paladin posted was to another user-supported forum a lot like this one; it could hardly be considered spam or "advertising."  That forum provides POI files for a variety of categories in addition to low clearance, for example Wal-Mart locations.  Similar to the Discovery Owners Group, another great forum for POI lists.  Perhaps the moderators can consider replacing this link?  The site is completely free and only asks that users "spread the word," which I suppose itself is a form of advertising but does not seem to be out of place here any more than would a link to, for example, the Detroit Diesel web site or a product page at Camping World.

RJ, you need to read the whole thread (three pages worth).  That POI files was last updated in 2010.

In order to download files from that site, you need to sign up as a member, similar to what you need to do here in order to post.

Sean, I thought the same thing, but this fellow has done this on several boards/groups.  He makes it sound like he is a user.  I am pretty sure he has been banned from some groups.  I think it said he has only posted 5 times.  I did not take the time to look at his posts, but I bet they were the same subject.

Jim

OK, curiosity got the best of me.  All five of his posts here have been about low clearance software.  Some seem to be objective.

As I said, the last time this came up (going on memory ::)), he had made the same post on several Yahoo RV related groups.  I am behind on my reading of those groups (subscribe to about 8   :D).  However, I just skimmed several recent ones and did not see a related post.

I think the moderators did the correct thing, given information at hand.
