I just got home from Arcadia an hour or so ago.  By some miracle I was actually able to back into my driveway during rush hour.  I spent about 30 minutes cleaning out the bus and will have to do the rest later.

I was a day late getting back due to some timing issues picking up Dina parts at Raines Bus in southern Illinois.

I am guessing I drove the the most miles to the rally and back of anyone who only went to the rally.  Some folks live further away, but they had either been in Florida for a while already and/or they planned to stay in Florida for the winter.  I ended up driving just over 3,500 miles while getting 7.9 MPG per my VMSpc.

You and Buswarrior get the "longest drive" awards, that's for sure.

Do I get the long distance award because I flew in from CA??

Regardless, I had a good time, and it was nice to meet you, too!

The first thing I did when I got home was to plug in the bus and the second thing was to plug in my Battery Tender for the starting batteries.

I am amazed at the amount of new rust on my bus from a fairly minimal exposure to salt.  There were no wet roads from salt on the way down.  On the way back I went through 150+ miles of salt spray from a minor snow storm.  My Powertech generator enclosure has rust in various spots even though the metal is painted.  Many of my lugnuts and studs have a layer of rust now.  Even the backup camera mount that is 11 feet off the ground has rust on it now.

It was still all worth it.  I may never get to Arcadia again with my bus with fuel prices going up.

RJ I bet your arms are still tired from all that flying! But don't forget John & Lidia flew in from Costa Rica! Boy I bet that's tough flying over the ocean with no place to touch down for a rest! ;)
