Some are called, some are sent, some just got up and went.

Couple of thoughts.  It is an 11.1L as opposed to the "standard" that we all seem to "want" - the 12.7 Liter.  The 11.1L will pull a bus just fine, but most folks would prefer the HP and torque of the 12.7.

I would be sure to check which DDEC version this is.  My guess is that it is a DDEC II.  I don't think that engine will talk to an electronic transmission.  DDEC II ECMs have a few issues, but most can be worked out with a little effort.

Would doubt it would be a DDEC I but if it was, don't go near it.

Mfg date is August 1991 so it should be DDEC II unless upgraded.  Information I can find says the DDEC III was released in 1992.

I would stay away from a Series 60 this old personally.  Detroit made a whole lot of upgrades to the 60 in the early and mid 90s.  If I was going to the work of an engine swap I would go with a 12.7 for more power.
