I didnt want to high jack the other thread, but I have a question about it. I was looking over the pics in the Eagle forum cuz someone asked me just today about any Eagles I knew of for sale. Anyway...., in one of the pics I saw the engine door opened and what looked to be a household fan attached to the door? Could someone explain what this is and what it is all about? Maybe to cool the engine on the road?

Maybe a radiator for the generator as it's in the old A/C bay. Not sure though. Maybe Clifford can chime it as he is more familiar with the coach than I am.

That fan is used to suck the engine heat out after stopping it cools the engine compartment down in a hurry so no hot bedroom or waiting for the bed to cool down my Eagle had one

Thanks for the info! When I park though I usually just raise my back door to cool off if needed...... maybe this is one of the things that makes and RTS different then the Eagle somehow?

I saw that, too and wondered.  Thanks for asking.  Now I know, not a bad idea, either.

Theresa, that was not a stock item on a Eagle we been doing that on Eagle for years the doors are easy to vent it just takes a 1/2 inch spacer under each piece of siding then the fan and you flip a switch no more opening the door pretty simple huh.
FWIW I turned mine on about 15 minutes before stopping for the night and it works

What type of fan do you use??? Is it an industrial fan or just a regular house fan?

It is a automotive type dc fan you can use 2 small ones or a 16 inch what ever fits your needs wrecking yards are a good source 10 bucks each and they will have all sizes new ones at places like Auto Zone are around 50 bucks and wire those to pull by changing the wires, you can also wire those with a thermostat to shut off in case you forget to tun it off been there done that lol

Would an extra auxillary fan like this help to remove heat while travelling down the road? Seems to me, the more heat you exit, the better.

If I ever get to use it, I have mounted two 12V fans in the area where the battery compartments used to be.  The fans are mounted and are angled about 45 Deg. toward the top of the engine.  I have not connected them up for use yet but I planned to put them on a thermostat contained in the engine area to come on at what ever temp. I decide would be good as I traveled down the road, (when I do).

This idea come over me a long time ago when I was replacing (repairing) my entire bus frame.  I am hoping that the added fans, one on each side of the engine pointing toward the back of the bus engine compartment door would expend most heat or a good share of it as we travel down the road.  Also I beleive it has to help cool down the engine compartment after we stop, (if I get to use it).

Now this has not been tested as yet, (hope some day soon), but as Ace questioned I too think this would work?  I sure hope so and plan to test it, (one Day).

This is just my 2 cts. but I am glad I did it. It's gotta help even at shut down to use the bedroom or keep the engine room cooler at any time.
