Well, it's been 14 months since I last posted photos of my slideout project. I've bought a new boat and done a lot of sailing since then, but the regattas are over for this year so back to the bus:-

The previous post on this topic was this one: http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=13422.msg141561#msg141561

In that post I had just finished the 'lower slide beams' for the second slideout. Now I've finished the equivalent fabrication for the third and fourth slideout - these two slides are side-by-side, so one structure handles both slides. If I were a braver man that I am these two slides would have been combined into one slide of twice the length - but that would have meant removing one of the vertical columns from the bus structure, which I didn't want to do.

The photo below shows the new lower slide beam. I realise this structure won't mean much to anyone other than myself, but trust me when I say that a hell of a lot of design and fabrication work has gone into this! Once it's installed I'll be able to take some more photos that might help things make more sense. I'm also about half-way through making the floor of the second slide, which sits on the lower slide beams shown in the earlier post - again, photos should be on the way before too long (about this time next year I expect...)

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.
