I have a espar 27,000 BTU air heater in my Shorty Prevost.  It is wired into the 12 volt house electrical system for use as heat when not going down the road.  It does not work, the blower comes on, I can smell fuel but no ignition.  There is an espar dealer here in town and they  think they can fix it.  It looks similar to what espar is building now, so I believe them.  My question does any one have experience with how reliable these devices are.  I have ee heat in the unit as back up, or probably to supplement the espar, but I do winter camp, and a lack of heat is dangerous.  Your thoughts?

I  have an E-spar a 24 volt in a Prevo.

Ours has both an external circulating pump and fuel pump and both are bad.....almost 800 for the 2 pieces.

I am switching to either webasto or possibly an aqua-hot too bad yours is 12 volt I'd send you the old one for parts.

I decided they are very temprermental and too expensive for me.

Mine is not metered thru a spray tip but mierly a tube of the correct diamiter that releases the diesel into the combustion chamber.

On the other hand often it is the basics that screws things up check connections and make sure you have good voltage put an ohm meter to the sensors, check filters cracks in fuel lines ect. good luck

I have an Espar unit which was isnstalled by the PO. I don't use it and I think its' 24V. If anyone can use it for parts I'd be more than happy to ship the whole unit.

Moderators, I'm not looking for a sale here...I know where to post items for sale. I'm just looking to help another BusNut out of a problem.

Sounds like it could be the "glow plug".  Had same problem with my Espar D7L and the new glow plug (Beru GZE 201) is $135. Espar  recommends you change them every year, which isn't going to happen at that price. I think the recommendation must be for people who are using them all of the time.

Thanks guys, yes Tim I think it is the glow plug as well.  I am going to take into the dealer to make sure it is worth saving.  I doubt it has been used much at all.

Resurrecting an old thread to see if anybody found anything useful.  The Espar dealer here in Sidney, BC must supply a tube of vaseline with the GZE201 glowplug.  I can't imagine any other way he will sell them at the price he is asking.  Has anyone found a better alternative?  EsparParts.com hasn't heard of my model number or that plug number.  I can get them off ebay in Germany but the trip over to pick them up is gonna be a deal breaker.
