I tell my race car customers that if the car is free, you can restore it for just twice what it's worth - maybe...  I so love the old Flex's but the cost to put one on the road would stagger me.

I think Brian basically answered the question. But they are cool looking old busses.

We had three at our last TBR Rally and two have been repowered. They are a cool looking coach and the owners I talked to do not experience any problems finding parts. They do have a torsalastic supension similar to the Eagle.

Here is their website http://www.flxibleowners.org/

PM me your email addy and I'll send you a video from their last gathering a month or so ago.

This is a cool lookin one. I drive past it often, but the owner was never home when I have stopped. He has some cool old firetrucks too http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/30-FT-FLXIBLE-BUS-NO-ENGINE-/140436902136?pt=Buses

We also prefer the older style coaches. We own a 53 GMC and love it.
By the way, just how much is a running 671 worth anyway?...Cable

I agree with what Brian said as far as cost - but if you are the kind that does the work yourself & have the tools AND wants to KNOW that the work really was done (& not just a receipt) - go for the body style you want!

A free bus ain't free if you have to tow it. So, look around to get the best example you can. You are on the right track by doing your homework first so you will know what you are getting into.  ;D
