My brake lights are out, and I went looking for the fuses for the first time.  Would someone tell me what I'm looking for and where?  I found a wiring panel under the driver's window, but no fuses that I recognize. There are round black things that are wired like fuses.

the MCI's and presumably the TMC Crusaders, have auto-reset breakers, which are probably the round black things.  The manual for the MC-9 is here:  http://www.buses101.com/mc9_maint_manual.htm

and MCI at least didn't change much.  The wiring for my 1980 MC-5 is almost identical to this MC-9 schematic, except for some things that my bus doesn't have.  You may find the same for you bus.

The circuit for brakes runs from master switch to stud 14 in the front bay, to a 6A auto-reset breaker, to stud 19 and 26, to the switch, to stud 20 in the front bay still, to stud 4 in the rear bay, to the lights through a connector.

Dunno about MCIs but my Prevost uses a really oddball circuit breaker.  If that's the case make sure you carry spares or plan to do some re-engineering alongside the road at some time.

The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt you.
Its the last thing but its still on the list.

Works till post 4 on the rear bay, but seems to be always hot on posts 7/3 in the rear control panel...presuming those are counted left to right and top to bottom.

seems to me with switch on brake lights will burn until parking brake is released...do you have power to brake light socket from the post?could be just bad bulds..have seen both blow at same time...scokett corosion?jump hot wire to scokett hot wire..
