Using Tin tiles for ceiling

Okay , time to replace the ceiling. It is now foam backed carpet type material about 15 years old. the foam backing has gone bad ceiling letting loose.
It was on my list of things to re-do, just not this soon. It already has a good backing behind it,plywood.Has anyone used the 2' by 2' powdered coated tin tiles that are nailed in place. A zillion different patterns and colors available,little pricey. Will they take a bend at all ? Other chose would be wood of some sort similar to flooring not big sheets. No vinyl , carpet. Any Ideas

They also have plastic lookalikes that come in sheets.

Ed, Jim Smith used the tin in his Eagle I think he bought from Amercian, there is some photos of his on the Eagles board if not I have some pretty sharp trim with  walnut and LED lights.

We used a lookalike material we  bought at Home Depot in the kitchen and a similar pattern in the bedroom. Both syles are flexible, kitchen tiles not as much as the rolled type we used on the curve of the ceiling.

If you look above our oak window frame you can see it, we chose a brushed nickel. Comes 24" wide and 25' long. This came from http://www.talissadecor.com/ Order took 10 days from India of all places. We're not finished installing trim, always a work in progress!



In the lounge we used a brushed antique nickel.



In the kitchen we used the HD product, glues up like paneling, 18" x 24".



We like the fact they are really easy to keep clean.

I saw some on the plastic panels on sale at Lowes for $4.00 each today.

finished mine about 60 days ago. Took some extra work but end result was nice! Layout time was most intense. You will need to find a 30 inch paper cutter on ebay or craigslist. Easy to manipulate and flexed nicely to the original curve of my 9. I have also just finished two rooms for a neighbor who liked the bus so much! I chose zinc self tapping screws and some sealant. As you can see, I also needed to cover the tin as it was raw!
