DD3 Diaphragms...

I managed to match all the brake diaphragms in the tag and steering axle brake cans.   And I matched the small diaphragms in the DD3 canisters.
But,  the larger diaphragm in the DD3 has a metal cup called a diaphragm separator which fits on a small lip on the diaphragm.

I found matches for the large diaphragm but they don't  have the lip formed into the diaphragm which the metal cup slips over.  Otherwise the sizes match exactly.
Will they be okay or should I keep looking?   These diaphragms for the DD3 which I found are more than 20 times more expensive than the ones on the tag and steering.

Iver, They changed some parts in the DD3. And no longer use something, I would have to go look to be sure or maybe someone else will set us straight. I think the metal separator on the large diaphragm?  Tom Y

Update...

Thanks for all the information.  I wish I could get that kind of pricing in Canada.....
I managed to get a service data bulletin from Bendix and it says the DD3 actuators are supplied with 2 different diaphragm constructions.
One has a metal separator between the diaphragms and one which uses a surface lubricant between the diaphragms which eliminates the need
for the metal separator.
So they recommend the surface lubricated service diaphragm..292711   and the auxiliary diaphragm.....246675. No need for the separator.
   However they failed to mention what the surface lubricant is???
Anyone know?

I ordered diaphragms today from Mohawk they have a kit pn# 2037901 that has both service and axillary diaphragms for $78.50 along with overnight shipping so I can get my inspections done it came to $227.00 for both sides.

the Canada thing can really suck for prices.....but I have had very good luck with a local bearing/truck stuff shop.  They have been able to constantly match or beat prices I find on the internet, prices  before transport and taxes/customs.  It's just a little mom and pop shop so I have no idea if there are others like it....but as the duty brokerage thing is a killer when ordering parts from the states keep looking locally you may be surprised
