Thermostats (Mostly for wrench pullers)

It seems in my line of work(that makes money) everyone wants to change the thermostat if their tractor is overheating. Neglecting to clean radiator, slipping fan belt, ect. ect. I personally have not replaced a thermostat in several years. The current thermostsats have a "wax Pellet" design and just don't seem to fail. Is this a trend? Have they became more reliable? I'd really like to know.
  Just for kicks, I have replaced only 1 key switch that needed it in 20 years of Kubota repair.

Not that it's exactly the same, but I have thermostats from british cars built in the 1950's that can't be replaced and work perfectly.  I have no idea why...

slipping fan belt is the most popular reason for overheating that I have found.
