I 40 REOPENS TODAY

I just saw on the local news (Greenville, SC) that I 40 re-opens today, 2 days ahead of schedule.  Jack

Yes, It was a rock slide caused when part of the mountain slide down across the road. US 64 along the Ocoee east of Cleveland, TN is also closed by a slide.  I heard that the slides were caused because too much dynamite was used when the roads were put in causing fractures that were later enlarged by freezing water in them.  Jack

It may be open but on the news  they say there is a 5 mile back up going west bound.

Just one lane and all the lookers slow it down.

We traveled I40 east bound today and traffic was very light.  Saw a short backup on the west bound side at the
one lane area. Sure is better than the long detour.

Yeah wouldn't ya know they'd finish it right after all our back to back NC/SC runs!
Now all our buses are headed back & forth to Daytona! Then it will be Orlando season!

It should have been cleaned up and open months ago!
No reason it should take over 6 months to clean up that slide!
