Dreamscape

We have State Farm and will stay with them until the end of time. The agent has been real good to us and that's what matters. They fixed my mother-in-laws Cad and the gararage door that jumped out in front of her, which is now my wife's, the deal we got was pretty darn good. Instead of insurance shopping I spend my time doing honey do's! ;D

We have both cars and Dreamscape covered, that's all that matters.

Paul, I'm glad your happy with your agent, I can't believe a word mine says, first he tells me that state farm doesn't insure bus conversions and I find out they do, then my rates 'adjust' sometimes twice a month without a good explaination or as in this case any at all, another time he told me that for house insurance state farm is required to insure for replacement cost based on square footage, that I couldn't just insure for the value or any other reason, it had to be replacement cost, that turned out to be just another lie on his part. Up here if I want to have state farm insurance I'm required to have that agent because they have 'territories', I'd have to move out of his teritory to get a different agent (according to him, and thats another lie on his part), I'm just fed up with dealing with the crook.

We have had state farm for years, and until we sell the house, we'll keep them.  i checked this year becuase we got hit with a 20% increase on top of 12% last year due to their "losses".  however, when i asked what losses as in what were your premium revenues and your paidout losses the last 3 years so i could see the "losses" they incurred, they ignored me.  but, they were still the least expensive insurance i could find on the cars and the house.  Progressive is so far the only company that will insure a bus conversion without having a house also.  and USAA uses Progressive.  and they were higher than state farm.

i'm with you Cody, my wallet speaks more than any loyalty.  when insurance company executives start making less than basketball players, i'll start having a little sympathy.

Good luck in your search.

Like Paul, I've had a very good experience with State Farm and they insure my pickup and bus (at minimums for now) for under $500/year.  And my agent is outstanding.

But if I had an experience like you are having, I would be insurance shopping too.

One thing I liked with State Farm is that I was straight up honest that it was a bus conversion and that I was doing the conversion myself.  They even got photos.  It is written up that way and they had no problem with it.  When I was shopping around, all the usuals (Aon, Progressive, Geiko, etc.) either choked on "bus conversion" or "self conversion".  And I have no desire to mislead them about it only to pay years of premiums and then have a claim denied because of misinformation on the policy.

Cody, we had SF for 30 plus yrs too. When they wouldn't give us a fulltimers policy on the bus, we went to Progressive. After 2 years with them and annual rate increases, we switched to AARP and the Hartford. The rate has gone down each year for being accident free and full coverage now includes towing on the RV to the nearest qualified repair center at no extra charge. $1200/yr includes full coverage w/250 ded on both the bus and the Liberty with a 75K replacement on the bus. So far no claims, but then we never had any claims with SF either. Check it out, you owe it to yourself, Will
