Made some good progress during the last few weeks. Here is one of the interior pictures. Maple panel with cherry stain and 3 coats of clear satin.

Looks Great!. Doesn't it feel good when you get to start making things purdy? ;)

Looks great, All that wood make's it feel warm, not like some of the laminate S&S you see, We did ours in oak and just love it. Feels good to get to that point where you can see finished product. Keep up the good work. Jason

The walls are 3.5 inches thick per side. I found an industrial rigid insulation used for large walk in freezers. The closed cell was sealed to 5/8 plywood. I then covered that with a moister barrier and then the 1/8 inch paneling. The coach is very dry and very quite. We have been able to both heat and cool the bus with very little effort.

I was curious. From the picture at the windows they look 8" thick, lol. Looks good.

I'm intrigued as to why you used Maple and then stained it a Cherry colour - why not use Cherry to start with? Maple (here at least) is only fractionally cheaper than Cherry - but perhaps you couldn't buy Cherry locally?

My own bus will be done entirely in Cherry so I'm interested to know if you deliberately didn't use it for a particular reason.

As Bryan says, the walls look much more than 3.5in thick in the photo - must be an illusion

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

Looks great! Can't wait to see it when it's done.

Wanted cherry to begin with but found stain grade maple panelling for $2.00 per sheet! Decided that I could do the work and save nearly $2200.00

That is the only reason!

Same with ceiling tiles. Found those on CR for $1.75 per sheet and saved about $800.00. Sure I had to spray polyurethane on both sides. Something that ended up begin pretty simple to do.

Thanks for the cudos!
