Mine is PD4104 040 so is from the 1st year of production. My manual (thanks Zimtok) is from later on in production. The wiring diagram does not match mine ...IE marker lights are on term., 1 in diagram, and term., 3 on my bus. I am in the middle of setting wiring right so any info appreciated

Hi Dallas, that's getting closer, but I was deep into wiring yesterday, and when I realized the original wiring had marker lights on term., 3,  I figured I would stop checking until I had the right diagram.  Too bad you don't have the right one, I was kind of figuring if anyone had it you would.
The cool thing I realized is that the PO had messed things up so much that the temporary wiring I have been using will not be necessary as long as I put things back to the way they were when the coach was built.  On that note, my master relay is shot, do you know how many amps it carries and what would make a good  (low cost) substitute?
And while I have your ear...I pulled a good windscreen from this Prevost

I had heard these will fit a 4104, and it sure seems the same size....do you have any more info on this?  I think it's a '75 Prevost ???

I think mine was a hound.  Would you mind checking if one of your diagrams has markers on term., 3?  Now that I think about it, who knows maybe a tech messed up 56 years ago and now I scratching my head looking for something that doesn't exist.  The terminals in the front electrical panel are just junctions so it doesn't really matter, but with 100 of them finding wires is a challenge.  Sure would help, someone used some snips in  there, not everywhere, just enough to mess things up and make me want to put it back right.  I'm kind of relieved actually, I thought I was going to have rewire the whole thing.

the master relay in my bus is already an aftermarket, with no cap on it so who knows what it is.  The transits in my yard are all too modern (or 24V) so I can't find one there....I may have to BUY SOMETHING NEW...OMG!  But I was thinking it's just a relay....hmmm maybe I'll put in one of the other ones that is no longer in use.  Now why didn't I think of that?

Hi Zubzub & Folks:

The master relay should have either 852 or 917 stamped on the mounting leg.  On your 4104 it was also used for reverse & starting circuits.

We still have a few new ones left on the shelf and you can reach us toll free at: 1-888-262-2434.

i hope this HELPS!!!

Happy & SAFE!! Bussin' to All.

Zub -

You're right.  PD4104-040 was delivered new in May of 1953 as fleet number G-6455 to Great Lakes Greyhound Lines, based in Detroit, MI.

I'll look to see if the 04 shop manual I have is that early a vintage.  Might take a day or so, as they're in storage.

The Prevost windshield should work fine.

Anja might be interested in some parts off that Prevost for her bus, as it looks like the same model she's got.

Zub,

What is the master relay, are you talking about the engine control relay?

Almost any relay can be replaced by those little black, square generic things you can find anywhere. All you have to do is figure out which wire goes where but it isn't too hard if I can do it! I think they run about 30 amps, enough for most applications.

My diagrams show from Terminal 1 to the marker light switch to  81 to the lights. This is in the Control Panel near the driver's seat.

I found that a lot of my 4104 wiring has been changed so much it is almost a lost cause to try to match it to the original. Sometimes I just wire around it to save a lot of frustration.
