3/4 in through the water pump...

Question-  I am wanting my supply lines (pex) to be 1/2 in.  However, I have read where one should use 3/4 in to the manifold and then 1/2 from there.  My question is, are most pumps set up to handle 3/4 tubbing on this end or 1/2 inch?

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Danny,

Most newer pumps are setup as 1/2" in and out. If you can pipe 3/4" to the inlet, you will decrease the work of the pump. [kinda like sucking through a straw

the bigger the straw the easier it is to draw it up] Than you will have maxium preasure at the 1/2" supply!

Good Luck
