Does anyone have a link or vendor that has parts or access to parts for Maxx Controls (shifter for Allison transmissions) I found a new shifter but the indicator which shows what gear you are in is different from the one I need.  I changed the shift pattern plate which bolts to the assembly my old one bolted right up!  I would appreciate any information thanks!

Pat,
Is this the cable controlled shifter?  Can you post a photo of the style you need parts for?  Jack

Ok Jack here is the new shifter that I found on ebay! The photo on the bottom is the old shifter and shift pattern that I need.......!  Maxx Controls has been a bear to track down they were Morse Controls, but times change.........!

I removed the old shift plate pattern from the old shifter assembly, all I need now is the shift indicator strip for the top assembly.......or someone who can supply one or make it! The shift indicator strip is removable on the new control all you have to do is pop the top and it slides out!

I found this new Maxx shifter assembly on ebay it was only 80 bucks.......!

You can use that shifter, but obviously you have a 5 spd, and the new shifter is for a 4 spd.  I personally would NOT use it since you'd loose the all important capability to hold the transmission in first gear.  Is your shifter broken? The old shifter looks good to me.  Good Luck, TomC

Tom the shift plates are bolt in place items, each shift plate is for a specific transmission, I changed the shift plate from my old shifter to the new shifter.........all I need now is the corresponding shift indicator strip that goes with my shift plate!  Photo below is of both new and old plates you can see the difference in shift patterns by the contour's of each plate.  The old shifter is looking pretty bad and with the new dash, steering wheel, my thoughts why not finish it up right with a new looking shifter........if that works out!....

Just a thought. It would not be back-lighted, but what about a using a label maker? Jack
